Renovating a Property in Central Portugal
|
Internal partitions have been removed upstairs to let in more light. This is now an open-plan lounge with kitchenette and log-burner
|
This little house we bought two years ago. In the
village of Varzea Pequena on the outskirts of Gois.
Street level (note the dirt road) the two windows are
one large adega. The door on the far right is another
adega, where the chickens were kept.
The second level .. had two rooms with a shower
bathroom and kitchen leading onto the small
balcony.
Initially, we partly renovated and painted the house to
make her livable.
Now we are re-renovating with a new roof, new floors,
open-plan lounge kitchenette upstairs and converting
the large adega into two bedrooms with a bathroom.
The old kitchen will become an extension of the
balcony, keeping the original fire place as an
entertainment feature with additional seating.
The village streets being tarred.
