We are looking to promote a cultural exchange
programme between the "Bombeiros" of Central
Portugal and the "Firemen" of England.
In liaison with a group of young dedicated Portuguese
men and women, we will be building this programme
around a range of activities : kayaking down the
Mondego and Alva Rivers, absailing, mountain trekking,
fishing, and canyoning. With qualified instructors and
full insurance cover.
Discussions are currently under way with members of
the Local Civic Council and Komandant of the Gois
Fire Service, Senhor Francisco Dias.
We hope to expand the exchange programme to
include the surrounding Fireservices in the City of
Coimbra and helicopter support units from Lousa and
Pamphilosa da Serra.
We are also exploring a Fund Raising Programme in
support of the costs involved.
