Descent down Ribeira da Pena: jumps, abseiling,
water crossings.  A spectacular journey combined
with wild and inhospitable scenery, several
waterfalls, lagoons and towering cliffs.  Lush
vegetation and unique wildlife.

Rib ª Quelhas (Castanheira de Pera) - Spring and
Autumn

Descent down Ribeira Quelhas : jumps, abseiling
(14 to 20m) , water crossings.  Some Climbing.  The
river is a basic section, and suitable for beginners.

Rio Lordelo (Espinho) (Apr-Oct)

Descent down Rio Lordelo: jumps, abseiling (4 to
25m), water crossings.  Progress stone to stone, in
and out of the water.  At the end, a large pit with
several jumps and slide.

Canyoning is the descent of rivers and mountain streams using special equipment and techniques to overcome obstacles.
Rio Teixeira - Mosteiro (Apr-Oct)

Soon after entering the river is the first rappel of
about 25 meters, has several platforms and is
relatively slippery.  Ending in a large pool with only
partial standing.  After about 15 minutes walk along
the bed, with large blocks and some pools, there is
the second obstacle, using a rappel of 35m. The
cascade is partially sloping and very slippery.  For
those who have not mastered the techniques of
abseiling, a guided rappel is recommended.  Course
covers slides and jumps to various heights and levels.

Canyoning - Ribeira de Loriga - Serra da Estrela / Loriga

Serra da Estrela is Portugal`s highest Mountain Range.

Descent approx. 2kms.  
From the start, the river enters an area of benches.  One
obstacle is accomplished by transposing a small lip of
2m, and 15m rappel of water pool.  A further 22m rappel
Ascent approx. 3kms
Following course of river, to traditional Schist Village
houses (approx. elevation 500m). Level walking along
the mountain with spectacular panorama.
